Kami menggunakan partisi untuk mengurangi jumlah pemblokiran pengalaman sistem OLTP kami karena penguncian, dengan skema partisi yang membagi tabel kerja menjadi 100 partisi berdasarkan id pelanggan. Namun kami menemukan selama pengujian bahwa rencana eksekusi tidak dipilih dengan cara yang kami harapkan.
Skenario pengujian adalah pelanggan tunggal dengan 300.000 catatan kontak (masing-masing data kontak dibagi menjadi dua tabel), semua berada di satu partisi, dengan kueri yang mencari 500 baris spesifik di partisi pelanggan. Anda akan mengharapkan sesuatu seperti pertandingan hash untuk menghilangkan 299.500 yang tidak diinginkan untuk menendang cukup awal dalam rencana, tetapi sepertinya SQL Server memilih untuk mengambil catatan jumlah seluruh tabel dan rata-rata di semua partisi sebelum mempertimbangkan bagaimana banyak catatan yang akan ditangani, yang menyebabkannya untuk memilih loop bersarang dan menghilangkan catatan yang tidak diinginkan jauh di kemudian hari dalam proses. Biasanya ini membutuhkan waktu 9 kali selama permintaan yang sama terhadap tabel yang tidak dipartisi.
Anehnya, menambahkan opsi (kompilasi ulang) ke pilih memberikan rencana yang masuk akal, tapi aku bingung mengapa ini membuat perbedaan. Ini bukan prosedur tersimpan dan selama pengujian kami menghapus cache prosedur sebelum melakukan setiap pengujian.
Perilaku ini tidak terlihat ketika tabel yang terlibat tidak dipartisi, yaitu rencana yang tepat diambil setiap kali karena perkiraan jumlah baris cocok dengan jumlah aktual
