Konfigurasi server Xorg gagal - tidak ada layar yang terdeteksi

Saya memiliki masalah serius dengan server Xorg di ubuntu 12.04 (dengan kartu nvidia 420M GT).

Di rumah saya menggunakan monitor eksternal yang terhubung ke port HDMI laptop saya - layar eksternal digunakan sebagai perpanjangan. Tetapi kemudian ketika saya meninggalkan rumah saya dan pergi misalnya ke kantor saya tidak menggunakannya lagi tetapi file konfigurasi xorg saya tetap seperti semula dan kemudian beberapa hal buruk terjadi. Misalnya - setiap kali saya boot setelah melepas monitor eksternal saya mendapatkan beberapa font tidak default dan lebih besar dari biasanya + beberapa windows dengan kesalahan tentang mode resolusi tidak kompatibel.

Tetapi hari ini saya telah mencoba untuk boot secara normal tanpa monitor tambahan dan server xorg telah gagal dan saya tidak dapat menjalankan boot ke GUI. Saya menerima ini

Saya juga menerima kesalahan bahwa layar telah terdeteksi tetapi tidak satu pun dari mereka memiliki file konfigurasi yang tepat tetapi kemudian saya telah mencoba untuk mengatur ulang xorg ke default-nya (dalam mode failafe) dengan

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

(Saya tidak mendapatkan bentuk output itu) dan sekarang saya terjebak dengan ini. Sejujurnya - Saya memiliki kesalahan ini ketika mencoba masuk ke failsafemode dan mendapatkan gambar splash ubuntu ketika mencoba untuk boot secara normal.

OK, jadi saya telah menginstal ulang xserver-xorgdengan apt-getdan kemudian menghapus ~/.config/monitors.xmlfile dan semuanya berfungsi dengan baik sekarang. :)
